I know lots of people are using the cooler space as a sub box, and so am I just wanted to let you guys see my work and maybe get some constructive criticism.
2004 SANTE
What made you decide to make the top plexi? You took away a perfectly good seat. I guess it's different, but I think I would have just made it a seat. I put my box behind the driver's seat in my '03. That way I could keep the cooler and it offers a spot for people to board the boat from the dock without stepping on a seat.
It’s still a seat, all you need to do is put the seat right on top of the glass. Using thick sticky foam mat that is designed for the inside of cabinet drawers and tool boxes to prevent scratching and sliding. And to answer your question; why does anyone go with Plexiglas? To show off what they have done. I myself am not much of a show off but I haven’t seen anyone else do it and just wanted to be a little different. The glass is 1/2 " and does not flex. Be warned though Plexiglas is not cheap.
They are cup holders at the top of the glass and the box is sealed; I think he is referring to the bottom of the box where it is vented so the air can be pushed out and off the ground. The vents are ten inches across the picture makes them look small and I have tested the box and was very pleased with its sound, thanks for your concern though.
