I just got my new '08 Air 216 and wondered how you guys are connecting your ipods. I had the old xmd1 on my old boat and Echolodge was kind enough to build a cable for me. I have been reading that the EA1276B CeNet interface sucks. Thanks for your help.

I have used the interface that connects to the interface jack on my lst two boats. Works fine, straight digital input, no analog conversion, can pause, fast forward, jump to the next or previous track, and read the song or artist name all on the indash remote. It also charges the ipod and only the one wire is needed.

Even though I am going to replace my CMD5 in a couple of weeks, I installed a very long rca/mini cable from the back of the head unit under the floor and coming up and out next to the heater so I won't have wires running across the boat. It works fine, but I am patiently waiting for the new Alpine ipod head unit and remotes.Comment

Does anyone know of a cable that has both RCA and a cigarette lighter adapter that hooks to the docking port of an iPod?

i am using an alpine ex-10 ipod and bluetooth interface in my 236, love the fact that when the phone rings the caller id comes up on the display and mutes the system. also has the ability to make and receive calls from the dash. I also use a jl audio swithcing gear that allows me to use the ex-10, my rca jacks int he dash and my xm portable radio with the push of a button under the dash. I will try to post some pics this weekend of the setupComment
