Mounting options for a WS-420 EQ

Does anybody have any pictures of how you mounted your WS-420 EQ on a newer body style Nautique? Trying to see how other people pic up existing screw holes or fabbed brackets, and also routed the wiring. I have some ideas but I think there has to be a better way and I just wanted to see how others are doing it.

    Thanks,

    Chad

RE: Mounting options for a WS-420 EQ

    Chad52,

Check out the thread on this page, “Nautique Stereo by Earmark”. The initial piece built is an ABS or aluminum trimplate to drop the EQ under the dash. Next, additional brackets are often required to bridge the trimplate and the available underdash structure. Hope this helps.

mine is in a little fiberglass housing wrapped in black carpet and the housing is mounted with two aluminum pieces with alot of holes in them that allow for adjustable mounting options. the rca's were run from the amps around the bow. use stinger wires

In my case I have 4 amps (clarion 280 on bow speakers, clarion 480 on 4 cabin speakers, kicker 750 on sub and kicker 850 on tower) I looked at the ws eq andit appeared to me that it had one input. Is this correct and/or does anyone have any ideas on hooking an eq(s) to this system. I am building a box with another sub and will be adding one last amp for that in the near future.

You can hook up 3 amps directly to the WS420 (using output slots) and the one input is what you connect to a preamp on the head unit. I ordered a single-din/half-din combo car radio housing to install a new alpine deck and the 420 above it. I am going to route the microphone around to the driver side and use the new marine remote for control.

As for AuMDLST, you can piggy back the two amps in the boat if they have the capability to do so, then you will only have one set of rca's for both amps running to the 420 and it will tune both amps with one knob.

I guess, let me ask an even simpler question. On the newer model boats, the under-dash section is no longer open with all the access to the steering wheel controls, wiring, etc. There is a molded grey plastic panel that basically encloses the entire area. This panel is held on with 4 screws. Are most of you drilling and customizing this panel to mount EQ's of other accessories, or are you trying to pic up an existing screw and use it as an attachment point?

Here's mine, flushmount below the throttle, easily accessed by throttle hand.
