I just put a pair of Wetsound 485's with the 420 in my 220. I had my local stereo shop do the install. I'm not sure, but I don't think they have things hooked up exactly right. I thought that I would still be able to control the volume with the factory stereo remote, which I can't do anymore. Secondly when I am playing a cd only the bow speakers work and when I use my ipod all the speakers work except the bow speakers. Then if there is a song that has a lot of bass and the 485's are turned up pretty loud it's like i can't turn the bass down enough they start to distort and just sound horrible. Sorry for all the questions but I really have no idea about anything when it comes to this stuff. Thanks for the help.

RE: WS-420 Help
You need to get in there and give us a description of where all components are plugged in. For instance did the shop place all your amps on the 420? Which head unit output is supplying the 420?2006 SANTE 210 (Pending Sale)

Sorry to hear that. Give us a call at 877-938-7757 and ask for Gyver. He is our tech support guru. He can see what's up and even recommend a different shop.
As this sounds like a lot of different things going on.
With the WS 420. You can set it and forget it. And juse use the factory radio to have volume up and down. For instance, when riding, we have the towers up and the in boats half way. Leave the WS 420 like that and then use the radio for up and down etc..
You should have seperate volume of the in boats and the towers.
Sounds like they have the bow speakers just run off the radio. And the WS 420 going to the amps. So they are not connected.
If this is true. Please take your boat somewhere else.
As for the 485's. From the sounds of the rest of it. I can bet there is not enough power. They are crossover wrong and the gain structure is wrong.
Ask Gyver if there is another dealer near you. It sounds like someone that knows Marine Audio should look at it.

How it is now
The ws420 is not connected to your factory deck at all.
The ipod is connected dirrectly to the ws420 on the Aux input
and the front peakers of the boat are conected to the factory deck
How it should be
the ws 420 should be conected to the deck via and RCA cable runnig from deck pre amp output to the main input of the WS420
This will solve the volume and cd problems.
Now for the front speakers i dont know why Nautique does this but the are connect to the deck from the factory and you should be able to locate the wires for them under the passengers seat mine were blue and orange. those need to be conected to the amp so the dont sound like ish whenever you turn it up.
now for the 485's i dont know??? i am sure it is just a matter of adjusting the frequencys of you crossover and eq untill they are right. pretty sure the reuire a large 4 ch amp.
hope this helped.
