Is that 1 JL1000.1 amplifier enough power for those 2 JLW7's? I know those W7's are rated at an RMS of 750, but they'll only be getting about 500 from that amplifier. Those of you with experience in JL, is this going to be enough, or do I really need two amps to power those?

RE: (2) JL12W7
You should run 1 12w7 off that amp in a ported box. OR two 1000/1's on two 12w7's in sealed enclosures. Sealed subs take more power to run than ported subs. IMO one 1000/1 is not enough to run two 12w7's. They require a lot of power to perform to ther full potential. JL subs tend to play much louder in ported enclosures.

It really depends on what you are trying to accomplish with your sub, do you just want some good bass or are you looking to really have tons of bass. If you have the money do it once and do it right so you are not upgrading every winter. I am running 1600 watts to each one of mine and if I had room to add a fourth sub I would do it in a heartbeat but I am out of room.
