    Free air Subs?

Does anybody use free air subwoofers on this site? How do they sound? I am thinking about maybe a Wet Sounds 10" and mount it where the cooler door is supposed to go on the new 210. I just don't know if it will rattle too much or even sound good? Anybody got feedback?

    RE: Free air Subs?

I have three subs on my 226. One of them is a 10" JL audio free air marine sub. (not sure the model, but its the newest one they make) The rattle is surprisingly low, but the output is quite a bit less than the other two enclosed boxed subs I have, even though they are all powered the same. The sound seems to be decent though. Whenever you can enclose a sub & port it out, it definately would be more ideal for a boat.

Thanks J, where did you mount your free air sub on your 226? Any pics? The only reason I am even thinking about getting a free-air is because I'm tired of hearing my fiberglass side rattle from my 15" sub. Since I can't find a vent that looks good to fit on the side, I thought about mounting a 10" sub there instead.

Don't waste your money on free air subs in a boat. They can work well in a car if done correctly but it is impossible to make one sound good in a boat.
