Remove Tower Speakers Each Night ?

We keep our 211 in a marina that has a bit of history of people, mostly teens I think, snagging stuff from boats. Do many folks on here pull their tower speakers down at the end of the day and take them with you? How difficult is this to do? Is there a good way to secure them so that theft is less of an issue?

Boat is a 2008 211TE with stock tower. Speaks will probably be either a pair of Pro-80's or 485's.

I replaced the bolts on my Wetsounds with buttonhead allens, I remove them with my screw gun, takes less than 5 minutes to take them down or put them up. The only time mine stay up on the tower is overnight at the lake.

This is wishful thinking but what would be sweet s a screw that had a lock on it like some lug nuts do or like yakima ski racks have. No one at our marina has to pull speakers down but there is a night security guard which I imagine bring the teenage theft to a minimum

For hanging moving lites for shows we used clamps like this:

I wonder if something like this might work for the speakers.

I like the idea of locking nuts that would help prevent theft though. Removing the speaks every time we use the boat will be a pain (literally late in the evening when the skiters are out).

We have had some issues over the years with thieves on our lake, my boat has an Alarm System but I still take the speakers down unless it will be just one overnight.

Have NVS Tyrants and they are heavy, the only way to remove/install them unassisted is tower down. It is a real PITA, 16 Allen screws and lugging the speakers on shore. NVS has some quick releases available now but they are really pricey, must admit unless it is going to be a long day or two in a row, don't spend the time to put them up in the first place.

Just change out the allen head screws with security torx head screws - very very rarely will you find that someone has the driver to work them.

I like the torx security idea. I wonder what the likelyhood of someone seeing them one night and coming back the next with the right wrench is?

The pro 80 clamps have a quick release or so they call it. I take my pro 80's off when my boat sits out overnight on the trailer. They remove with a 3/4 inch wrench and come down pretty quick. 2 bolts per speaker. i can have all 4 down in less than 2 minutes
