Actually if you look close it is nothing like the WS 420.
As far as function goes. This is still just a single zone eq. The WS420 is two eq's in one. On the WS 420 The ring is the tower controls and the knob is the in boat controls. On the Kicker the ring is the freq adjustment and the knob is the amount of boost.
So they are completley different products, they only share the knob/ring part.
The knobs are the same as there are only so many parts available for knobs and pots etc..when manufacturing. Just like you will see many woofers using the same frame, same binding posts etc...Does't mean anything except there are only so many parts available to choose from when manufacturing.
This is like saying look at the Tige, it is just like the Correct Craft becuase they both us PCM engines. They share a part but are completely different boats. But there are only so many engine manufacturers to choose from. So many boat companies will share parts. Gauges, Props etc...
