Need help wiring tower for tower speakers!

I am getting read to wire some tower speaker and I need to know how to run the wire through the tower. Once I get up to top of the tower, how did I get the wire to the part of the tower that is towards the back of the boat without running the wire out in the open? Are the flat bars on a 2001 FCT hollow? Thanks for any help you can provide!

Running the wire...fishtape, wire, vaccuum a string....I believe the flat panels are hollow but they arn't open on the inside. I ran my wires out of the front (of boat) bar and down to the speakers that are fastened to the rear bar. make sense? good luck!

That's a tough task, do a search for member "GotWake", he did his install that way and posted some pictures along with directions on how he did it. I did mine to the front bar, speakers hang on the rear. I am happy with how it turned out, speakers project pretty far forward and my bimini is below the speakers.

      Good luck with your install.

What is the best way to drill through the tower? Should I use a special drill bit? Anything else I need to know?

Do you have everything you need; speaker wire, wire mold, grommets, etc?

I drilled a pilot hole and then used a step bit, be sure and deburr the holes thouroughly also.

I drilled through mine with a jobber bit, beveled the edges and the same at the top.
Keep your shopvac running with a friend holding it close to the bit and hole while drilling so your not picking little bits of metal out of children's feet for the next three months.
I tried running 110 ground wire through the tower, ribbon, and kite string. I tried to blow it at one end with the compressor and suck it at the other with the shopvac. The whole thing sucked. Finally got the ribbon to go through.
In the end I would have drilled bigger holes in the tower. Make sure you put grommet's around the holes, and BEST OF LUCK!!! I've found it either goes smoothly or it doesn't. If it's not working quickly then get more aggressive with the holes on the tower.
