    wireless ipod?

Anyone know of a way to get rid of the pesky ipod wire. People are constantly tripping over mine. I like to keep control over the music while I am driving. Has anybody moved their input jacks from the glove box to another location? Wireless?

I've seen several Blue Tooth adapters for this. My wired up setup has worked well for us. I just drop the wire down to the McGuires pouch by the driver's feet and nobody trips over it.

I ran mine down below the floor, over the center ballast tant, then up under the dash. I have the wire coming out over by the hydrogate lever, through the crease between the cup holder and dash. You dont need to drill or cut anything out. The wire and adapter cost me under $20.

Monster (the cable guys) make an FM modulator that actually works very well. The device will find the three best FM signals that are not used and put them in memory.

I have a Timex watch with an ipod control. It works great. You leave the ipod in the glove box and you can control volume, stop and start as well as skip forward and back. On my 211 you can even do it while surfing.

Is there a way to control the Ipod through the standard Clarion remote at the drivers side?

I have been fooling with some of this myself. My 06 220 has 2 wires hanging behind the clarion which I would assume is the aux. We bought a cord for the i-pod to hook up there but still cant get anything from it. We turned up the factory defaults etc. to no avail. The book also leads me to believe that I should be able to get a radio I_D and turn on sirius without any additional hardware but when we follow the steps in book we get nothing....any help is appreciated. I may look into the modulator thing as well
              Thanks Terry (rugdog65)

If you have a "newer" Clarion, you can use this:
                http://www.amazon.com/Clarion-CCAIPO.../dp/B000V7SAIQ

I could not find this on the Clarion website but I'm pretty sure it's new and from previous research, works much better than the previous model...and is less expensive. This may prevent you from using a changer (if you have one) but you can get a splitter to resolve it. Also, I'm assuming the remote would be able to control it.

Clarion has a couple of interface cables that you can use. I have this one - http://www.crutchfield.com/app/produ...h=clarion+ipod , but it isn't very user friendly.

I now just use the AUX input on my CMD5 and use my Ipod controls directly. I use this to connect to the input and it charges the Ipod also - http://cgi.ebay.com/BLAUPUNKT-SONY-P...QQcmdZViewItem

I just bought the above interface and it failed to work with my 2008 SAN 230 with the Clarion CMD5, per clarion's website and the product manual you need: Clarion EA1276B but this has apparently been d/c'd. Any one know anything have any luck with either of these interfaces? thx!

Huh, that is the one (Clarion CCA-iPod iPod) I bought from Crutchfield. Tried it with three different Ipods. Can't even get the power light to come on for it. Maybe it is defective or it is an issue with the head unit.

I'd send it back to Crutchfield for a replacement.

Probably not a bad idea. I am content using the Ipod directly, but it would be nice to have real Ipod controls on the remote. Good luck.
