Howzabouta Fusion Stereo.... they have a stereo that you put the iPod into--- the front of the stereo drops down, like the Clarion,
but there is no cd slot, only a slot for the ipod. Remotes are similar to the clarion, but they allow for total control of the ipod, and the
stereo unit itself has a display on it that mirrors what the ipod is doing, and has a click wheel on it. totally wateproof, too.

Get a Harmon Kardon I Drive controller. Or the new Alpine ipod controller.

They are both really fast. The UI is like on the ipod. With the controls being similar so it is what you are used to.

I flushed the display in the dash and the control by the wheel. Plug the ipod into the cable in the glove box so it stays safe.

You can see the display through the wheel and the control is on the left next to the little red button (horn)

This used to be the key but we re located that.

Have complete control over it and it is not a pain like used the radio control ones.

I probably have over 100' or RCA cables on my boat...

IPOD input on driver's side feeds Clarion on passenger side which feeds EQ on driver's side which feeds amp on passenger side (plus two more amps on the driver's side). I just ran two 4 meter 4 channel RCA cables between the driver and passenger side to handle the signals.

I have a CMD5 and CCAIPOD on my workbench waiting to be installed when I have time. I need to rebuild my custom dash panel which takes about 20 hours including the custom paint so it matches the dash, it's a winter project.
