I have one on my SAN and I very rarely use it. But my primary Ipod connector ( http://cgi.ebay.com/CAR-RADIO-AUDIO-...d=p3286.c0.m14 ) wasn't working correctly this past weekend, I messed up the dock connector, so I was forced to use the CCA Ipod adapter.

Maybe I am not smart enough to figure it out, but I find the CCA not very user friendly. I like having my Ipod next to me in the pocket so I easily select music.

CCA Pros - Can use the wired remote and it charges the battery (but so does my other connector).

CCA Cons - Not user friendly, not easy to navigate.

      On my 2007 216TE with CMD4A, I did a self-install of a CCA-IPOD (I've got a 6th generation iPod classic). I got mine mail-order from Hooked on Tronics http://www.hookedontronics.com/show_...mp;brandtype=0.

The things I liked about the CCA-IPOD are:
      - The driver can control play/pause/forward/back within a play list using the existing hard-wire remote next to the steering wheel
      - 1 drill hole in the glove box & wasn't introducing any non-water-proof components on deck (eg: WHEN the boat gets dipped --- it is bound to happen at least 1-2x/summer)
      - It charges my iPod

Things I don't like/haven't spent time to figure out yet:
      - I should be able to change playlists remotely, but so far, I'm changing them on the CMD4A head unit directly
      - When you've got a large playlist, it takes a while to get to a song deep in the playlist; solution: use iTunes to order them before you get on the water
      - I haven't found a way to cycle between information on the remote (eg: Artist/Album/Song/PL Track #)
      - Most of the time, it locks you out of the iPod so you can't use the 'wheel'

I've since got my playlist the way I like it, and when I'm not running XM, I'm running the iPod through the CCA IPOD.

Back when I was looking at this stuff this spring, someone else mentioned they liked their HK setup...

Has anyone had any experience using this cable with the XMD3 head unit? Clarion doesn't specifically have it on the compatible list, but the XMD3 has a CeNet connection on the back.
