Speaker Pod Cover Removal

HELP!
How do you remove the fabric cover over the factory speakers. Boat is 2003 Nautique 226 but I believe they are the same for many models. I need to remove and install new speakers and have tried to pop out but was affraid they would break. They seem just to be snaped in. ??????

On our other CC's you need to remove the cushion. Then you get access to the back of the speakers. The speaker grills are glue to a PVC pipe which is bolted into the backing plate (complete cushion). So I'm affraid you'll have to remove the complete cushion.

Thanks for the input but I think mine are installled a bit different. I can feel the speaker screws if I reach under the mounting pod and they are run in from the front of the speaker so if I remove the speaker pod and cusion I will still be looking at the pointed end of the speaker screw not the head ??????? The speakers are not mounted through the cusion. Im just not sure how to get at them..

the cushion (combing pad) and fabric speaker cover both cover the mouting of the speaker, so you have to remove the combing pad to get access, so while they aren't mounted THROUGH the combing pad, they are mounted behind, or underneath it. the pvc backing gives the speaker some additional resonance by creating a mini speaker box.
