    Another question

Can I drill shallow screws into this raised section to the right of the factory clarions? This is where the sub was originally mounted. It seems like there is extra filler in that area for this exact purpose. I just want to put four shallow screws to hold the third amplifier.

I have read all the stuff about gluing marine lumber, but it seems like that might not be necessary for this area?

(yes the wirecaps are temporary until I get the third amp in and button it all up)

        RE: Another question

LOW LOW LOW LOW LOW LOW............nice video and you definitely need to vent your fiberglass.

You can drill screws into that part of the carpet, but be very careful. I had to drill small pilot holes to get through the carpet/fiberglass for a screw to bite correctly without ruining the tip of the screw.

I had a couple people ask for these so I figured I'd just go ahead and post to the thread.

Just made a box up following your dimensions, sounds great, now to add a seperate amp to it.

I'm debating on rhino lining or carpet too. Where can I find that amp rack? Also, How are people mounting their new sub boxes? Just setting them in there with blocks to keep them from sliding around, or are people screwing them down through the speaker hole?

I sprayed my box inside and out with truck bed liner. Hoping it works well, already have messed up 2 previous boxes in the older boats we have had.

Finally got my box finished, built my amp rack, cut vents in the walk way and under the seat, and mounted my Pro485's. The guys at N3 have everything now and are rewiring my amps, adding my Kicker 850 to push my Pro485's, 2 additional Optima Yellow Tops, WS420 and a Boost Box. Should be pretty sweet.. I'll take pictures of it all hooked up but here are afew.

Thanks Andyray. No gelcoat. After covering it with Marine Epoxy I covered it with 3M Body Filler and shaped and sanded it.. Then had a friend shoot it with automotive paint and clear. I had fitment issues with the amps after I figured out that my Kicker 850 was too long to stand up vertically so I built the amp rack.. Then I had issues with getting my new sub box that I slaved over to fit in there.. I was sick to my stomach the first time it didn't fit!! But eventually figured out a location for everything to make it work.. Sure is a snug fit tho! Haha.
