1982 Nautique Stereo installation....how to do it?

I want to install a CD player in my 1982 Ski Nautique. There is no current radio setup whatsoever, so I'm starting from the very beginning. I was wondering who has installed a stereo in this type of setup and how you did it, i.e. where/how you mounted the deck, speakers, wiring, etc... All suggestions are appreciated, and as always thanks in advance.

    Bobby,
On my 84 I put it in the center of dash with a covered mount.
Here's a picture - It's right below the ski nautique emblem.

It may be old & sit on the trailer too much, - But it\'s a Nautique - Wicked Pissa!!

      Bobby,

You might want to take advantage of the wired remote capability and mount the unit under the bow. Of course you will want to have access to the unit so you change the CD's, but don't think that you are restrained to a surface dash mount for the entire unit.

I had an 87 American Skier with a closed bow. I put the stereo (three times :x ) on the dash and until I figured out that my boat was providing the local area with new stereo units. When I relocated the unit up under the dash and out of site it stayed put. Unfortunately I was left with a big hole in dash  but that gave the impression that the stereo was already taken.

Sorry, no pictures available I upgraded to a much better brand

I've got an 82 and the stereo is mounted under the steering wheel in a plastic box that the prior owner presumably got from a car stereo shop. It's a great location and allows for easy access -- since then I've upgraded the head unit and added satellite radio. You should be able to see the location in the picture. I like it because you don't have to cut the dash.
