    tower question

before i start drilling to run my tower wire is it safe to say that the flat pieces that connects round tubing on top of tower is hollow to run wire through

where would you run the wire out top bottom back or front on rear portion of tower

if anybody has pictures of stock tower wiring from factory could you post a pic

    RE: tower question

    Fitzee,

Crossing the speaker wire through the flat cross members is a bit challenging, do some searches as there have been a few that have done it that way, one user that comes to mind is "Gotwake".

I opted to come out the back side of the front tube, felt crossing to the back tube was overkill in my application. Almost always run with Bimini up and the NVS's mounted to the back bar protrude to the front bar, used some good quality cable wrap and it's all good, never really see the wire and even if you could it's not much different then what is exposed transitioning from the bottom legs to the top legs.

Mine goes up the driver's side back tube. It then come out at the screw that keeps the tower from collapsing forward, enters in again on the next stage above, then crosses through the tube. This bypasses the flat pieces. There is a breakable connector at the screw piece. You can kind of see it in the attached pic. Blow it up. I'll try to take a closer picture this weekend. It was on the boat when I got it, so I have no idea where to find one.

            thanks for the input all

bp22 i guess you have to drill the 1 1/4 hole to feed the wire back through the cross member or is it possible to do it with out the hole

            thanks

It may be possible, but I couldn't do it. My main crossbar on the front of the tower was pre-drilled, but I couldn't get my fishline through it becasue of the sharp turn. I cut the holes and it made it easier and accessable. I went with a 1 1/4 hole, but you could definitely go smaller. I got the stainless caps at Home Depot and siliconed them in. When the boat is on the water you don't really even notice them.

              Good Luck.

                Brandon,

Very nice job on your install. On your version of the FCT you really do need to carry those wires towards the back to hide them.

Interesting, so CC pre-drills the round tube where it intersects with the crossbars. I was pleasantly surprised when I found the port side leg and foot were pre-drilled, made everything much easier.

Thank you. I have seen two 2006 SANs (both Sig Editions) that had the tube pre-drilled. Definitely made life easier.
