    DSS Breaker Box

    fitzee,

Are you talking about DSS circuit breaker box? If you are I would not advise you open it. This is a sealed unit! You can use one of the unused output provided you connect a device that has a similar amps draw as it was designed. This is not just a breaker box; it is digitally controlled from the Faria bus.

If your talking about something else then NEVER MIND J

      RE: DSS Breaker Box

      fitzee,

The screws in the photo are for mounting, not disassembly. The breakers are prewired to the harness, there would be no reason to open it and I am not 100% on this but I think I am correct to say it is sealed and you should not open.

Fitzee - I have an 06 210 and know the push buttons you are referring to (the ballast pump resets). I did not recall the amplifiers running through that area but will take look and see if I can get some answer for you. I believe the factory amp(s) is(are) wired from the battery through an inline fuse though.

Took a look at the boat and you are correct about the panel in the rear. Lighting was bad in the storage unit so no pics. It appears to be a mounting plate attached to a plastic "electrical box". I'm guessing that it is sealed to the box to prevent water intrusion (silicone gasket?). Without taking it apart - I would imagine you could change the breakers but it would be far easier to just run your new wires directly to the battery. A dealer parts person would be able to tell you if you can get the breaker. Depending on the amp and the availability of sizes of the factory reset/breakers will be the determining factor deciding if it is possible at all.

can someone tell me if from the factory is the 2 channel amp hooked to the 30amp push button breaker my boat only came with one amp

there is a 50 and a 30 (labeled amp1-50 amp 2 30amp)there is a power wire that runs to the 50 then there is a short jumper wire that goes to the 30 then the power wire runs to the 50

so what i was told is that the 2 breakers are hooked together so if one trips then they both do is this correct and that the 30 would be more than enough to run 4 channel clarion

                  pics would be great

I've got the exact same question as you. I have an 2007 210 and I'm adding a second amp. I have my breaker box off and saw that there is a post to put the + on for the second amp. My question is where does the ground go. I'm with you, I would like to just put it on that "Amp 2" breaker and be done with it. My problem is I can not figure out where the ground goes.

BTW I'm taking out my factory sub box and made one that will fit in the old space better and adding an amp to power just the sub.

The negative (ground) is going to the battery ( - neg post)

What size amp for the new sub? You would be hard pressed to push a sub off of the available 30 amp.

I'm going to have the factory Clarion 480 run the interior speakers and I got another 280 to run the sub. The 50 amp breaker would be on the 480 and the 30 amp (amp #2) would be on the 280. Thanks for the help. I'll try to put some pics up tonight if anyone is interested. I don't have to have the best stereo on the lake, just something that sounds decent.
