So, I've completed the installation of 4 Polk DBs (three 6.5" & one 5.25") in the main cabin of my '02 210. The 3 6.5"s are in the side panels with the 5.25" in the driver's "pod". The 5.25 fits perfectly in the pod. Also, contrary to what others have advised in this thread, I did NOT remove either of the side panels or the driver's pod to install any of the new Polk's. My process was to first cut out the "pantyhose". Then I would unscrew the plastic can (4 screws/can) from behind that held the old Clarion 6.5". I would then replace the plastic can (again from behind the panel) and then front loaded the new Polks. Overall, a pretty simple process.

Now I'm on to the 2 bow speakers. I don't think those two are going to be as easy. I'll post up some info on those when I get them completed.

Looks nice! Any issues when opening/closing the love seat or does it clear the speaker grill without issue?

The rear seats rub the grills slightly on the way up and down. The rubbing can be avoided just by "guiding" the seat away from the grill. But, even with no "guidance" the rub would not damage the seat or the grill.

The observer seat base does not rub at all.

When I did the system on my 2002 SAN, I made a riser out of gray 6" PVC, about 1.5" deep. I bedded and filleted it with gray epoxy. I mounted the speaker to the riser. It looked and sounded great.

Bump this pup to the top because others were asking about this recently and I too have the same question about fitting a 6.5" Wet Sound in a 6" hole. Boot Butter would help.

Thanks for bumping this! I like Raindogs idea for fitting a 6.5 in that panel. Too bad wetsounds doesn't make a 5.25" that also is a great way to fit a speaker in that pod for a really clean look.
