I am planning on doing some upgrades to my stereo in the spring and adding a amp is one thing. I plan on running 0 guage wire to a distribution block to run the 3 amps. My question is, how long does my power wire have to be from amp to battery. I would measure for myself but boat is in storage and I can't get to it. The boat is a 2008 210 I assume 20 feet of wire would work but Im not sure of all the angles and corners to get to it.

RE: Power Wire
check out this website for good cheap cable http://www.knukonceptz.com/. i personaly dont think 6 feet is enough. you really need to go measure and make a decision depending on the setup you want to build and what ever you decided length is add five extra feet of just in case wire.

RE: Power Wire
Wow - 1/0 wire - that can carry enough current to power something like a 150 amp panel. Does a boat with three amplifiers potentially draw that much current? Is it possible to get 150A out of a battery(s)?

I like to go overkill on things, it can't hurt anything and if i ever want to go with a crazy system I will be ready. My next question is where are the batteries mounted in my boat. I know stupid question, but I haven't even got to look inside my boat yet.2008 SANTE 210 Orange Baby! Current

You probably can't tell in my pic, but I used 0 gauge wire off pos. and neg on the battery (with a huge 200amp fuse) to the capacitor. Then used 4 gauge into two distribution blocks tucked above the amps. I know it never hurts to have extra wire, but having a few extra feet of 0 gauge can definitely get in the way.
