I am wanting to install new tower speakers before summer and would like some input. I like the look of a fiberglass enclosure holding 4-6 speakers but no one seems to be using this set up..Is the sound no good? Would I be better off with speaker cans, does the sound travel better...I think wetsounds is out of my financial reach..thanks for any help

RE: Fiberglass enclosure or separate speaker cans
Harold is selling his fiberglass box, speakers and all. It has four 6x9s facing back and two 6x9s facing forward. At $950 it's a nice box for a great price. I have a link to it posted in the classifieds. It's the next best thing if you cannot afford some Wetsounds.

RE: Fiberglass enclosure or separate speaker cans
Hey the sound is fine in the fiberglass speaker box. It is what I have. The only problem is if you ever blow a single speaker, which I did. Even disconnected from a power source the speaker paper will move when the other 3 are playing.
The effect is that the non powered (blown) speaker popped and cracked just as if it were on, and there was not a thing I could do. consiquently I wanted to buy better tower speakers anyay, so no biggy.

RE: Fiberglass enclosure or separate speaker cans
I would highly recommend the Kicker KTM6's. I just got a set for my boat and for the money I am really impressed. I think they sound fantastic, although I'm such a sissy that I have yet to get out to ride this season... (our lake just got filled the 5th, so the water's a itty bit chilly right now.) A couple more cheeseburgers and my permanent wet/dry suit will be complete!!!Travis Fling
