6.5 speakers in a 2002 SANTE

I have a 02 SANTE that has the stock clarion speakers behind the grills. I would like to add the infinity 6.5 and still keep the stock grills. I can attach the speakers behind the grills but part of the speaker would be covered. The old stock grills are for 5 inch or smaller speakers.
My question is how bad will this effect the sound from the larger speakers having to come through a much smaller hole. I can get the 6.5 speakers for a good price so I don't have the option of buying smaller speakers. I want the stock grills, because they fit flush to the vinyl and I dont want aftermarke grills sticking out where someone would/could lean against them.

I would think that people leaning against them would be a complete non-issue. Flushing mounting the speakers on the outside makes a HUGE difference in sound.

from what I remember I don't think you could fit a 6.5 inch speaker in the plastic baffle that the stock ones mount inside of.

You are right the baffle is to small, I would remove that.
