RE: interior speakers on 1996 sport...?
That's even cooler. I actually remember a discussion from awhile ago where you said you weren't a doctor but I thought I'd post it anyway. I'm dying to get my PhD so I can be Dr. Fling. How cool would that be!!! I really can't justify skipping the masters in financial engineering to pursue the PhD in Econ right. Maybe I could just play a doctor on TV... ?Travis Fling

RE: Sub placement ideas on a 1996 Sport...?
TravisFling: I am using a AudioFormz sub enclosure for a 12" Wetsounds Sub that I am putting in my drivers foot area on my 99 SSN. It fits pretty well. I am making a custom kick panel to go around it. I will be posting pics shortly of my entire project.
I would think a 10" would fit even better.
I didn't want to lose any storage space under the clamshell seat.1999 Super Sport Nautique

RE: Sub placement ideas on a 1996 Sport...?
I built a custom enclosure that fits behind the kick panel on my 93 Sport. I have a 10" JL 10w3v3 mounted in the kick panel with a 6.5" Clarion speaker beside it. I also didn't want to lose the storage under my passenger seat.1993 Sport Nautique - SOLD 5/10

In very tight spaces we use alot of Boston Acoutics subs because they best fit the application. A B.A. 10-inch is optimized in a .5 gross internal enclosure. Plus, you can add a passive radiator for a little extra output (similar in some respects to bass-reflex) without increasing the displacement. The B.A. 12-inch is optimized in a 1.0 cu. ft. sealed box. There are many excellent alternatives but the Boston subs are the best sounding when used in these inordinately small enclosures.

Sorry for the delay. Work and my motocross racing habit pulled me away from my boat for a while. Anyway, I got around to finishing my boat projects last weekend so I could use my boat for the 4th. Here is a pic of the Audioformz enclosure with my Wetsounds XS-12 sub.
As stated, I copied the original kick panel and modified it to fit my new enclosure. I used some birch plywood and coated it in epoxy and carpeted. I also, had to do some major cleanup of the stock wiring behind the panel, but it was well worth it. This saved my clamshell storage area.
I am using a JL 500/1 to power the sub.1999 Super Sport Nautique
