    New Clarion Marine Head Units....

So lets hear some opinions on Clarion's new line up this year. The video player CMV1 is my favorite although its retail is $800 and the CMD6 is $500. The CMV1 has two video outputs for hooking up some tvs in the boat. They also came out with 2 new remote which are cool.

Even though I'm not a big Clarion fan, I can say they definitely stepped it up this year

They look nice, just a year to late for me. I'm guess the '09 boats are coming with one of these head units?

I don't see a tape deck on any of those... Am I just missing something here, or... ?

Funny....I think they are both way overpriced. For $500, you would think clarion would at least get rid of the crappy display they have been using in the CMD models.

Why have a video display? I watch TV from my couch in my home. I guess you could watch "The Book" while on the water, or the new Motley Crew video to get pumped up before a session. It just seams a little backwards. Nice none the less.

It's probably meant for the big boats, but you can hook up other tvs and connect your camcorder to it and watch your own session. Pretty good from a training perspective. You can even relive the carnival of sin tour RC..

I was thinking about the training angle, that would be cool. Big boats, duh. It seams like a disconnect to the world though. I take my boat out to watch videos, but I like comfort too, so, to each his own.

Now we only need DirectTV to hook up to, live sports. Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

you could certainly put tracvision on your tower and bring a tv out there. if i want to watch training vid on the boat on a tiny screen i'll use my GL2's screen. if it were a 7" monitor or something that might be ok. clarion blows and should be banned from nautiques.

You can get the CMD6 for $300 including shipping. Shop around.

The CMD6 and remote with the LCD display went in my boat last week. The iPod integration is a major leap over my old XM1. No more naming playlists "clarionx".
