    Affordable Amp for Pro 80's

I just got my pare of pro 80s in and mounted them on the tower last night. I need to buy a good amp for them and wanted some opinions and suggestions. I know that a wetsounds amp would be the best for them but after spending all my money on the pro 80's I can't afford one of those right now.

Heres what I'm deciding between so far.

    Interfire A1000.2 (2 channel)
    Kicker ZX550.2 (2 channel)
    Alpine PDX 4.100 (4 channel)

If you get the same power from a 4 channel bridged as you do a 2 channel not bridged does either route have pros or cons? If you guys have another setup you run or other suggestions it would be appreciated.

I just had a set of Pro 80's installed a few weeks ago and I went with the Alpine PDX 4.100 amp. The speakers sound incredible. Loud and clear. No distortion at all.

The Alpine PDX is class D and nearly 90% efficient. So you'll have longer play time when lounging. Plus 200 watts per channel is right on the mark for the Pro80s. The Alpine PDX birth certificates show these amplifiers are typically 15% over their rated power. A little extra dynamic headroom is good. Have used many PDX amplifiers with HLCDs and they sound incredible.

A less expensive option is the Alpine MRP-F600 class AB amplifier. 300 watts per channel times two into 4-ohms.

This is what I use to drive my Pro-485's, works very well. Probably the best high efficiency value of any amp available: http://www.woofersetc.com/p120/AXT80...-Amplifier.htm

I just put a PDX 4.100 in my truck in 3 channel config to drive the front door speakers and the sub. Very simple setup and it sounds great. I'm very impressed with the PDX amps. I think I'm going to add 1.600 to the truck and get the same setup for the boat to replace the kicker amps I have in it now.
