my 220, LOTSA WETSOUNDS and Scream Marine

im not a big pic guy but here are a few with feedback and details:

Tim White at Scream Marine in Dallas did it all for me once again and nobady can touch me on my lake!! there was tons more i could have added, but for overall and kick *** sound without going broke--this is what we ended up with:

4 pairs of the WS "in boat" speakers(we added a pair on dash--a must have!)
pair of 485's(1 pair is LOUD, i cant imagine the guys with 2 pairs +)
3 WS amps(not sure of the numbers--but it works whatever they are!!)
    WS 420 EQ
    WS 12 in sub
vented thru what was the cooler entry(it was a tough decision, but **** worth it!)
4 lights--set up on heater switch(select front or back or both)

i took it out last night with rave reviews!!! im super pleased!! being a texas boy of course i will use Wetsounds but there is no comparison!!

    THANKS TO BOTH TIM WHITES!!!!!!!!

add the dash speakers for sure--you as the driver benefit from it the most! even if you just move a stock pair to the dash to save some cash

Bullet, that's a very nice system and a great point about the dash speakers. For anyone considering the addition of dash speakers here's a couple of tips to maximize their benefit.

Dash speakers are a great add-on, especially in those boats where all the cockpit speakers are placed well behind the driver.

There are a couple of correctable issues with all dash-mounted speakers, particularly for critical listeners. Because the dash speakers are so prominently located they can dominate to the point that they're all the driver may hear. This can be remedied by putting the dash speakers on their own amplifier channels so that the amplitude can be independently balanced. If the dash speakers are sharing amplifier channels you can add a transformer-based volume control (just like home theater applications) on the dash speakers only. These type of passive controls can attenuate the speakers without resistance and heat-related loss.

Also, due to the corner-loaded location under the angled glass and reflection off the glass, the dash speakers tend to be very peaky and a bit strident. All older Malibu owners are very familiar with this effect. So years ago we developed a passive bandpass filter (for correction of automotive dash-mounted speakers) with a shallow null to reduce this peak and restore the speaker's normal linearity. This makes a huge difference for critical listeners.

Its not a bad idea to add an isolation cup under the port side dash speaker so that its not modulated by the subwoofer within the same locker. This procedure really cleans up the midrange.

Another effective but less complicated and less expensive option is to add just ambient tweeters atop the dash. The key here is to attenuate the tweeters to the point they are not localized and overbearing but where you definitely miss them when they're gone. This can provide the exact range that is lost when you're traveling at 20mph plus and will bring the sound image forward.

        Great subject matter.

                sjames,

We offer this one made from King Starboard (versus acrylic):

Or, if you send us your hatch we'll vent yours and ship it back to you. We've done both for Planet members.

For details email me @ infoATearmarkcaraudio.com

Might want to vent mine but still have it usable as an access door as my new sub mount still allows space in the compartment is that possible.

Also has any one figured out a way to "cleanly" lock the observers seat down to avoid theft of amps etc?

Do you have some detailed pics of this vent in a '07 or newer 210 or close ups of the material? Does the material match the gelcoat? That looks like a great alternative to what I was going to do.

You can enlarge the same photo from our website gallery to see better detail. http://www.earmarkmarine.com/set23/l...2/P1020499.jpg

The slots are beveled, the edges are radiused plus the machine marks are polished out.

Its hard to beat the match since we use the same material that Nautique uses in most cases.

If you want the hatch to remain functional then its best to send us yours so we can modify it and return it.

                          Bullet,

I sense a bit of sarcasm in your comment. What do you have against David posting in a forum that he sponsors and answering questions asked about products he sells?

I for one find his postings beneficial.

i have no problems with his input, and i appreciate the forum he sponsors---but the title says "SCREAM MARINE"--which is his competitor..........

i come from old school forums where sarcasm and giving everybody a hard time is part of the game!
