Is that an oscilloscope in your pocket?

I've seen numerous threads as of late on all the boards about tuning your stereo. On many instances people refer to using an oscope to determine certain maximum volume levels, gains, etc.

I came across this yesterday and was wondering if this would suffice to work for those that dont want to spend a few grand on a nice tektronix.

Would this give you enough information and accuracy to make any good?

having just gone thru the amp tuning drill both with a multimeter and by ear, I'd be interested to know if that oscilloscope would fit the bill for the job as well!

You know, I ALWAYS used to tune with a milliameter, but after years of doing basic setup, and then fine tuning with the milliameter, I'm usually pretty close. Mikeski turned me on to the "by ear" method and after a long series of anxiety attacks I think I'm ok with it!!!
