    I have it on a CMD4A

From what I understand, the CMD4A & CMD5 are quite similar with what accessories they accept.

I have these hooked up to my CMD4A

Terk XMD1000 XM Direct Universal Tuner Box
    XMDCLA100
    Shakespeare Galaxy SRA-40

The "catches"... XMD1000 comes with a car antenna (meant to use the metal of the car as an extended antenna), and this wil give "OK" reception. The SRA-40 will give better reception. Even with the SRA-40, it'll just fade out randomly (near trees, or boat pointed in certain direction).

The bigger catch...It is getting harder to find these units as Terk has ceased production of them. Not aware of any follow-up models.

Well, I found a XMD1000 and XMDCLA100. They plugged right in and everything works great. The stock antenna seems to be OK so far. Thanks again for the info!

It's easy to do with Sirus, who merged with XM. I can walk you with the install if the link is confusing.

Looks like another good option. I found the two boxes (XMD1000 and XMDCLA100) on ebay for next to nothing so I went that way.

I would upgrade on the antenna.
