Stereo for 2002 Ski Nautique 196

I currently have a 2002 model year 196 with the crappy Clarion deck and even crapier speakers. I am interested in upgrading the deck, speakers, add an amp and subwoofer.

Does anyone have in suggestions on head unit that fits beside the drivers right arm? What type of amps, speakers and subwoofers would work well. I am interested in a nice sounding system that want break the bank.

I am very knowledgeable in home audio with installs etc but not sure about car audio. I have never attempted such an install. Is it very difficult?

You have a "single DIN" head unit currently - so just about anyone would fit in it's place. Just look for some of the polk audio speakers
that were or are currently used for the 4 cabin speakers - look at a clarion 480 for the amp to drive the speakers.

You say crappy clarion deck - whats wrong with it? You are probably driving the 4 speakers you have off of the head unit - which
IMO is going to be crappy for any setup.

Add an amp, front load some new speakers, the headunit should be fine. Polk db651, Infinity kappas, or Wetsounds XS650's are good options. Throw a sub under the bow if you really want it to sound decent.
