I've searched for a while and can't find anything on this topic, so I'm hoping this will help others too.
I'm installing 2 Alpine PDX Amps in my 07 SAN 210. The stock system had the two Clarion Amps on the marine slate amp rack, along side the 10" Polk momo sub box. As a side note, the screws that hold the sub in place go in to the fiberglass about half an inch deep, and the factory amp rack screws go in about 1/4 of an inch deep.
I would like to mount the two amps straight to the reinforced fiberglass that the stock Amps and Sub were mounted to...there is a rise/hump and I am thinking the fiberglass is reinforced.
My question is, can I just drill and mount the amps straight to the reinforced fiberglass backing?
