    Amp Rack

I've searched for a while and can't find anything on this topic, so I'm hoping this will help others too.
I'm installing 2 Alpine PDX Amps in my 07 SAN 210. The stock system had the two Clarion Amps on the marine slate amp rack, along side the 10" Polk momo sub box. As a side note, the screws that hold the sub in place go in to the fiberglass about half an inch deep, and the factory amp rack screws go in about 1/4 of an inch deep.
I would like to mount the two amps straight to the reinforced fiberglass that the stock Amps and Sub were mounted to...there is a rise/hump and I am thinking the fiberglass is reinforced.

My question is, can I just drill and mount the amps straight to the reinforced fiberglass backing?

Here are a few picks under the passengers seat compartment, I pulled back the carpet to find out what was underneath:

Yes. Here are two PDX amps mounted directly to the "humps" on my 2006 SAN.

      RE: Re: Amp Rack

Thank you. I'm going to assume that they used the same amount of reinforcement on the "humps" on the old hull as they did on the new hull.
Did you use the screws that came with the pdx's?

No problem. I'm not sure, but that makes sense.

Yes, of course I measured about ten times before I mounted them.

I'm definitely nervous about drilling/screwing into anything fiberglass on the boat.
Would there be any benefit to cutting the stock amp rack to match the size of my alpine amps and using it as a backer for mounting the amps to the "hump"?
My thought process would be to keep moisture off the back of the amps that the carpet could potentially draw in and hold...?

If you want to give a little lift off of the hump for you amps and not drill into the fiberglass you can use these little items.
