hate your clarion h/u but cringe at the fact that you have to buy a new sirius piece with a different brand h/u then try this. get an iphone, download the free app, and use it as would your ipod in the boat to have sirius.

For what it's worth, I ordered the Sirus receiver and Clarion proprietery "connector" ("CeNET" - looks like a nine pin connector but square, not round) from Crutchfield for ~$85. The receiver was refurbished, so it was half price. I installed into my Clarion receiver in under 10 minutes. It did take another 10 minutes to add a more permanent antenna ($65), which required drilling 5 holes in my gel coat (YIKES!). Total Sirius Set Up Cost was $85 without antenna upgrade, $145 with antenna upgrade.
The CMD5 allowed me to use the wired remote flawlessly. The integration worked perfectly.
I also drilled an extra hole in the glove box for an Ipod adaptor. The "connector" has a pass through for the Ipod.
My only complaint is I had to open a Sirius account, even though I have an XM account. Net cost is an add'l $4/month vs. adding a third XM radio to my existing account.
Happy to post pictures and answer questions if anyone else wants to do the same.

Great tip....I have the tuner and connector in a cart at crutchfield ready to purchase. My question is the tuner pics show round plugs and the connector shows the square female ports but no plugs? do I need to order some additional cables or plugs?

A cord with two round male connectors plugs into the Sirius tuner and the backside of the "connector" (Sieius adapter). A cord with two square male ends plugs into the frontside of the "connector" and the backside of the headunit, which if you have a CMD5 is probably coverd up with a sticker as was mine. All cords come with the tuner and connector. The other Square female end on the connector is a "pass through" which I used to plug in my Ipod adapter. If I didn't have satellite radio, I would have plugged the Ipod adapter directly into the back of the headunit.
Setting up the HU through the menu can be tricky. First you need to tell the Menu that it should look for a CeNET and not AUX connection. Then you need to to a "reset" (I think it was a reset or a reboot. Someting like that that is in the menu). Crutchfield is very helpful if you have any questions. They have technicians that are familar with this setup.
Good luck!
Tim
P.S. I highly recommend the more durable antenna, althoug at $65, it is kind of pricey.2015 G23

i was saying that if you have it in your car or home or something like that, but don't have the equipment for it in your boat to just get it on your iphone. i guess if you have a nauti, sirius, and an iphone that you prolly have it in ur boat though

hey Katytx...great call hooked up my new componets yesterday with ease. as you said it really didnt take over 5 or 10 minutes (I was on the phone with xm and sirius longer)....I could not get the same deal you talked about though. I called sirius first and they said to call xm then xm said no call sirius. In the end i had to open a new sirius account and pay regular price for it even though I alredy have 3 cars with and xm account? How did you manage 4 bucks? I never could figure out programing the head unit or what it would buy me. The unit new sat. was coming through and showing chanel names but not artist etc. sat. did work through dash remote but I had to program channels to surf through. I never could figure out how to scan through channels that were not programed 1-6 on head unit.
Thanks Terry
