Trying to convert from an XMD1 Clarion in an 01 Air Nautique to a standard face single din head unit. needing all the help I can get to fill the space around the new unit left behind from the Clarion and if at all possible looking for a way to waterproof the new unit as it is not a marine stereo! Any help would be wonderful...

Try JCWhitney - they have thousands of filler plates. As far as waterproofing - you are going to have a more difficult time with that because of where the head unit is located on the 01. I would have suggested going with marine, but it looks like it is too late for that. Have you considered relocating the head unit to the glove box as they have done on the later models? The only thing I have seen is a clamshell type cover for the faceplate, but I think it may stick out to far - I believe I saw one of these in an Overton's catalogue
