I have Alpine in my nautique. The 9886 works perfect with the MC10, MC1 and the liitle wireless remote. I am very happy with their performance and quality. They have a new head unit, which looks more durable

Are you aware the CDA-118M will be available in about a week? If you have any good contacts with Alpine distribution it would be great to know when the MC20 will be ready. I will probably install the 118M this month but since it has duel zone control for tower speakers the MC10 will not help, I will need the MC20. Its great they finally figured out we need separate control over our tower speakers but seems odd the remote that takes advantage of it will not be ready for possible several months....

in Alpine terminology, several months=several years. Thats how long it took for the MC10 to develop and be released

MC10 was anounced fall of 08 to be avaliable in Spring of 09. Yes, agree they are usually late but months not years in this case.

The CDA-118M was just anounced Janurary 7th 2010 to be avaliable in Feb. Its is in the warehouse now and about to be shipped to dealers, so it will be avaliable on the schedule as anounced.

For the record, it was in early 08 catalogs to be released in May 08, research and development is the reason for the delay. Trust me, I called them for over a year bitchin at them about it.

Does anyone use the alpine RF style remote? I have a 9886M and am looking for some input on this

The RF remote works fine although there is a second delay from when you touch a button to it actually changing the 9886. This really gets on my nerve so I pretty much don't use it anymore. The MC10 doesn't have this delay since it is constantly powered on, and I am planning on mounting a MC1 on the back of the boat.

My thoughts exactly. Are you planning on drilling? The RF remote was cool initially (since I didnt have a remote).. but they arent exactly water "proof".. and the build quality is so-so. I have gone through 3 of them. The MC1 is next for me.

Yes, i will be drilling to mount the MC1. Not sure exactly where yet. It comes with two bolts that you can mount with or use the automotive grade adhesive ring on the back and it will stick well. Although I will still have to drill a tiny hole for the wires.

                          David -

Possible to hook up two MC10's to the same HU? (one for rear of boat, one for driver)

^^^^ Yes. But your second controller would be a MC1.

I see that now. I'm a little concerned with drilling a hole that bit into the rear of my boat. I guess I'll wait until i see the unit in person before I make a decision to mount two. I'll order one for the driver for now.
