    Question on stereo system

once again just bought the 03 SANTE 210 and it has factory kicker 300.4 amp with clarion sub. I have an old amp that is sitting in garage and was wondering if i could run 1 amp to the sub and the other amp to the little speakers in the boat. i dont have tower speakers.
if this makes sense, where should i place the other amp? next to the kicker amp? Do i need to run one amp to one battery and the other amp to the second battery?
Also, if i decided to get tower speakers can i still fold the tower b/c the boat is stored inside my garage. is it ok to drill holes for the speaker wires or is there already holes on the flight control tower.
    thanks

    RE: Question on stereo system

That would be a good plan, in my 03 I have 1 amp for the sub, and then the 300.4 running the 4 interior speakers. The bow speakers are still running off the head unit. I have my amp mounted right next to the Kicker factory amp. I just cut a board painted it, then carpeted it and attached it to the factory board with 2 pieces of metal. I think I am going to change to something similar to what the guy in this thread did for mounting. As far as tower speakers yes you can still fold the tower. Since they mount on the bottom of the tower they really dont cause any problems for getting in the way for folding it down. You would need an additional amp if your going to get tower speakers though. The factory team stereo has another amp mounted on the other side of the kicker...so closer to the driver instead of the outboard wall. I am not sure if you will have holes already. This thread should help you get an idea of a lot of the things you want to do, and gives a walk through of a lot as well. As for batteries i have 3 amps running off 1 battery. That way I have one that i know will always start the boat.

look through this post on wake world.

What kind of other amplifier do you have? If it's a 2-ch or monoblock it would work well. As far as mounting the amp, depending on where your kicker is mounted you might have to peel the factory carpet back and fiberglass some MDF Fiberboard in to mount the amp (Thats if the kicker is mounted somwhere along the hull and there isn't an artificial wall) If so, and you don't fiberglass or mount some wood or fiberboard, you might send some screws into and through the hull. You would run both amplifiers to the AUX battery; either check where the kicker is wired to or, if it has a perko switch the other way to find out which battery is the auxiliary battery is to check the underside of the switch and look for the "2" and whichever battery is hooked up to 2 should be the auxiliary.
