    Speakers on a 196

Two of the speakers on my 2002 196 have blown and need to be replaced. These speakers have the cloth cover which appears to be held in place by a piping ring. Question. Are the speakers removed from the front and if so what is the best way to remove the cloth ring combo. If the speakers are removed from the rear how in the heck to the panels come off?
    Thanks.
Thanks also to those running "PlanetNautique". What a great way to keep current on our favorite boats!

The speakers on your model need to be removed from the rear. You will need to remove the entire pod to gain access to the speaker. The piping has nothing to do with the mounting of the speaker. They changed that for 2004 and we can now change out the speakers from the front.

Thanks for the info. Will have to look close at how the panels come off.
