New to us 05 216--Stereo/iPod Questions

MY dad just bought an '05 216 and he is driving it back from ATL as I type this. As his official Planet Nautique liaison he wanted me to ask if anyone knew about an iPod hookup. I told him to look for the audio jacks in the glove box but as I said before he is on the road.

So if it in-fact does not have audio-jacks has anyone come up with a reasonably affordable solution to hook up an iPod to the stock stereo, believe its clarion?

As long as you have either the limited or team edition there should be an RCA jack in the glove box, if you have the base model the RCA jack was an option. In '05 the stock stereo on the limited and team was the was the CMD 3 which allows you to plug in the audio jack of your mp3 player, the newer models have the cmd4 which allows you to plug in and control your ipod from the stereo. I have the cmd3 which means I can't control my ipod from the stereo so to make it easier I split my RCA jack and ran another wire over to the drivers side so my ipod sits in a holder in front of the throttle.

Congratulations on your new boat!! Enjoy.

If you don't have the jacks in the glove box but you have the RCA inputs on your radio, you should be able to connect an RCA to stereo-plug type cable from your radio to either the glove box (if this is where you want the i-pod) or, as MikeC did, run it to the driver's side.

The '05 models came with the RCA connectors in the glove box along with a 12v power source. If you have a LE or TE you should have these.

        Congratulations on the new boat!!!

My 05 SE came with them, it was part of the basic stereo package. These days it also has a few more options too. 8-)
