Mine is in a sealed box under the observer seat. The Memphis amp is insufficient and I'm going to upgrade to a JL 1000/1 over the winter.

I did not vent anything. If I were willing to lose the cooler storage, I'd have put the sub under the seat behind the driver's seat where the cooler goes.

I left the factory polk sub where it is. I'm going to have to add capacitors when I upgrade my amp though.

I am new to this site and am impressed with the knowledge of most of the posters. I have just ordered a 2010 230, should be in april. ordered it without tower speakers as i was not happy with the factory speakers on my previous 06 nautique 220. Planned on putting on kickers but after some research have seriously been wanting to put on wet sounds, maybe the threesome set up. was planning on using everything factory except tower speakers, any suggestions. just ordered boat last week so if i needed to change something in regard to the amps or woofer probably still time. all suggestions would be appreciated.

        Klynch,

        Welcome to the site.

If you're in North Texas then you might be close to our dedicated marine facility in Lewisville, just one big block away from Buxton.

I think you've got a good plan by staying with the factory equipment in the boat. Perhaps, in the future, you might be interested in upgrading the Polk Audio subwoofer. It's a good sub but it's put to task in an application that doesn't fit it's parameters. But you'll know whether or not you're satisfied upon hearing it.

It's definitely worth it to go with WetSounds HLCDs on the tower over the factory offering. Depending on your personal taste you could be interested in a pair of Pro485s versus the 3-some. You can hear both in our showroom.
