    RE: Biggest Speaker Sale Ever!

Anyone that's looking to get some tower speakers needs to jump on this deal. Everyone that has heard these speakers on my boat is amazed at how loud they are. I bought these two months ago and have no regrets, besides the fact that I obviously should have waited two months to get them.

Wil you sell the 6.5 inch hollowpoints as just speakers themselves? Have the deafcon III housings and would like throw 4 speakers inside them.

            vr6mole,

Absolutely. For pricing please direct your questions to infoATearmarkcaraudio.com. The 650 has an oversized basket so also inquire as to the mounting diameter.

Just to clarify, the choice of amplifiers to run one pair versus two pair of HollowPoint 770 HLCDs would be different.

At the entry point, for one pair you could run an Alpine MRP-F300 4-channel amplifier bridged into two channels, delivering 2 x 150 watts. At the top end a bridged JL Audio G4500 will still produce abundant power even under the poorest of voltage conditions.

An Alpine PDX-2.150 two-channel is unique in that it's biased to produce its full output into a 4-ohm load. Plus the PDX fullrange Class D amplifier is nearly 90% efficient and pulls considerably less current and therefore will play longer at rest.

These recommendations would change if you plan on adding a second pair in the future.

Do the speakers have quick disconnects so I can take them down during storage? Thanks

                    Intrlaz,

Yes, the HollowPoints come equipped with high quality nickel-plated binding posts. Electrical removal is just a twist and pull or you can add male banana jacks to mate with the posts. Physical removal and reinstallation requires an allen key.

                        Travis,

I like using two JL Audio G1300 monoblocks. These are Class AB and feature variable high-pass crossovers. By the specs they'll deliver 150 watts to each of four speakers but sound larger.

We get a similar performance with the Alpine PDX-4.150 Class D amplifier but the primary difference is that the PDX is nearly 90% efficient.

The JL HD600/4 is fullrange Class D with dual power supplies. Its a beast, its highly efficient and it maintains its rated power down to 11 volts. Also the HD amplifier has as port for a hardwired fullrange level control. So you can adjust the tower speakers at the helm without running the audio signal back and forth across the boat.

                        Email me for more details.

Here's a video of HollowPoint 6 1/2" and 7.7" HLCDs. Its not the best choice of music to demonstate their capabilities but the video does show the speakers playing at 100 and 200 feet.

                              Here's another HollowPoint video.

This is four Bullet HollowPoint 770 HLCDs driven by dual JL Audio G1300 monoblock amplifiers.

We're running an honest 150 watts per each speaker. The final distance is 444 feet with a pretty stout wind that day. The amplifier gains are set at two/thirds with the volume at a comfortable 80 percent. At 444 feet the sound intensity easily matched or exceeded the level of normal conversation, was completely intelligible with no sign of distortion.

                              http://www.youtube.com/user/EarmarkM.../0/OWv-39ftIZo

We're also running a special on the exact amplifier set-up that is driving the HollowPoints in the video.
