Is anyone running a wetsounds sub?

I am thinking of switching over to a wetsounds XXX sub and syn 1 amp, and am curious if anyone is running one and are they happy with it?

I am running one XS-12, it had the highest db reading from any single sub setup at the 2007 spring ride stereo contest. Changing only the sub itself in the same enclosure made a significant difference. The XXX is supposed to be a beast, hope you have adequate power.

I will be adding a syn 1 to power it so I should be good on power to the sub, however, power to the amp might need to be addressed. I am not sure how the wetsounds amp will do with my current power setup. I have two large 27 series dual purpose batteries and I upgraded to the 100 amp alternator so I hope that I will be good. We mostly only listen to it cranked when riding or cruising. I am just jonesing for more bass. There is a Supra who pulls in my cove every weekend and you can hear him thumping before he makes the turn in.

I have that set up in a sealed box. I'd like to have run ported, but I didn't want to use the room for the bigger box. I'm very happy with it. Cranked up, I definitely don't need any additional base. I recommend venting the area where you keep the sub. Mine is under the passenger console on a 2008 210. I cut 6 x 5" holes in the bow walk-thru panel. If you search on my username, I'm sure you'll find the pictures I posted.

In terms of power, I'm running the stock set up (100 amp alt, 2x grp 24 batteries (but I run the stereo off of one battery only). We only have the music cranked while riding...if we listen to it sitting around, it's at relatively low volume. When I've had it louder in my garage, I kill the battery pretty quickly...30-45 minutes. For wiring, I pulled 1/0 cable to the amp rack and then distributed with 4 gauge.

Great info. I was planning on putting it under the drivers footwell so venting will not be a problem. Thanks......

Also, I have a battery charger pre-wired in the boat. When I get home from the lake, I connect the charger...so, every time I go out, I know the batteries are topped off. Depending on how we use the stereo, the battery I've been using (I keep the other one isolated as a backup starting battery) typically needs a few hours on the "Battery Tender" to show +80% charge. Which leads me to believe there are days when I'l pulling more power from the battery than I'm replacing.

              A XXX woofer in a bass-reflex enclosure driven by a SYN 1.

I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with a pacemaker or for expecting mothers.
