    RE: 2010 Transom Clarion remote

Its in my planned upgrades this winter. I previously had been using the wireless hand held remote to just control the volume of my CMD5. The best thing about the CMD6 is its connected via a USB and will charge the ipod while it plays.

I dont know if they fixed it, but the old Clarion Ipod interface sucked. You could only play 5 playlist named "clarion1, clarion2, etc" it was also glitchy. Maybe they fixed that issue tho

I use the CCAIPOD with my CMD5 and really like the way it works. Charges the IPOD, you can pause, skip, or repeat a song. I just queue up a playlist and plug it in. I don't even think you can go through menu's to search for songs, buy why would you when the wheel works so well for that? Not missing anything using the interface.

Mikeski, are you still using this? If so, when you say playlist, are you refrring to a "clarion 1, clarion 2, etc." playlist or your regular named playlist?

Also, does this work for a CMD4 and an Iphone 3G?

          Thanks,

Yes, I still use this interface while skiing/boarding since it pauses the ipod when I want. It displays the music track playing if the display is set that way (which mine is). I have never really tried to search for new music using the interface, I don' think it works that way. I just queue up a playlist or folder and let it rip. I can hit the arrow and skip or repeat a song if I want. Pretty much plays however the IPOD would play without the interface and does whatever the forward or back arrows would when playing. I have a folder named "Grants Mixes" where I have about 12 of his or his friends mixes. Each of the mixes an hour long, I can skip to the next mix or the previous mix. If "Sexkade", one of Grants Mixes is playing, I can skip forward to "**** Hop Mix" if I hit the forward arrow or back to "Mix3b" if I hit the back arrow.

            Does this answer your Q?

The CCAIPOD interface also adds another input to the CMD5 so you can have one IPOD plugged into the CCAIPOD and another plugged into the AuxIn. This is sometimes helpful if you are the cove DJ.

I ended up not ordering the transome remote, coz I rarely at the transome. I will be next to my iPod if i want to change songs, or just changing volume via wireless remote.

The H2Owaves (interactive technoloties) RF remote is also a good option and it works 80' from the boat. They make a nice mounting base that allows you to use it both as a mounted remote and as a handheld remote.
