Stock speakers worth $1k? What is better for same price?

So I just purchased a new 2008 210 and it originally had the four 6 X 9 speakers on the tower and the amp to run them. I had the dealer take them off when they sold me the boat to get the price down some. When I went to pick up the boat, he said he would throw the speakers and amp back in for $1k.

Are these speakers any good? Is there a speaker and amp combo out there I could get for $1k or less that would be a lot better than the 4 stock tower speakers? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Jwat don't waste the money on these if you want to hear good at 80 ft. Spent 1200 bucks and get one pair wetsounds pro 80's and an alpine pdx 150x4. Those 6x9 are good for what they are but not worth 1k with the factory amp. That setup does cost prob close to 2k from the factory but even at 1k its not worth the money.

Ya, I want to hear them while riding. I can get the pro 80's for $900...know where I can get that amp for $300? Also, if I went with 4 Pro 60's, what would be the best amp to run those with and how should I wire them?

You'd be much better off buying a set of 485's instead of 60's or 80's if you want to hear the music while riding. My local CC dealer sells WS stuff and I'm sure they could hook you up. PM me if you're interested. BTW, there were some 485's on ebay a few days ago.

Has anyone had any experience witht he infinity 6100 tower speakers. I am probably going to go with wetsounds eventually, but in the meantime I may pick up something a bit cheapers to tide me over. There are a ton advertised on ebay, and I have seen a fair amount on other peoples boats so was just wondering

The Titan 6 x 9 pods with the brushed finish look incredible. The Polk speakers are good quality for near field but just can't project. Here's some options:

Get that set-up and wait for the WetSounds 6 x 9 HLCDs to retro into the four Titan pods. But the factory amplifier won't cut it. You would add a SYN 2 for the tower. You'll use the additional factory amplifier to re-configure the in-boat system and get those bow speakers off the radio power. Total estimated cost would be around $2500 with the factory equipment.

One pair of Bullet HollowPoint 770s and a 500 watt JL Audio amplifier for $1000 or two pair of Bullet HollowPoint 770s and dual JL Audio monoblocks with 600 watts for $1800.

Single pair of Pro80s with a JL Audio 500 watt amp for $1180. Or, a pair of 485s driven by a SYN 4 is a perfectly matched set.
