Anyone put sound on the FCT3 towers

    Hi All :-)

Getting anxious, my boat will be arriving in about 4 - 6 weeks (In South Africa, where it will be winter and early days before the World Cup). I've ordered my 230 team with the 1 pair rotating, 1 pair fixed tower speakers (plus 500.4 amp) and I was wondering have you seen or does anyone know of people who have kept the stock sound system and just added on say wetsounds 485's or pro 60'w etc. to the tower.

Has anybody had issues installing sound around the stock system on the new FCT3 towers or not and how easy is the install, if not wetsounds what other systems could you put on around the stock sytem. This is just for future reference and I'm really intrested.

Thanks Guys - Hope ur all enjoying yourselfs, cause it's geting to winter here and whats going to suck the most is our new boat arrives, were going to break it in (25 hour period) maybe have a set or two if were lucky, then it's winter here (probably not as cold as you guys can possibly get) but South African's were not born for cold weather (At least I'm not lol!)

Anyway any help with the above query would be spectacular. Cheers !!

    IF,

For the identical cost you can run a pair of Pro485s or two pair Pro60s. Its no contest. Go with a pair of 485s.

The Pro485s have a manageable hang height, not much more than the 60s and less than the 80s. Sometimes the cargo top needs a bit of adjustment which is an easy task in this case.

You can't maintain the overhead stock speakers while adding a pair of 485s. Once adding the 485s the stock tower speakers will be soncially invisible. The Polk coaming coaxials sound very good in the boat as they're the right type of speaker for this. But, the same Polks on the tower are kind of anemic for wakeboarding at 75 feet.

agree 100%. I had 485s on my 09 230 with no problems. A syn4 and 485s is the best combo on the market for that boat. I'll be putting them on my 2010 when it gets here.
