    Help with Tower Speakers!!!

Okay I am trying to decide on some tower speakers....money is a major factor. I have found a few different tower speakers for sale on here and was wondering if I could get some opinions from everyone. I am looking to spend under $500 dollars on a set. There have been some Fusion T speakers, some Defcon III's, also some Titan's.
What I am wondering is what would be the best bang for my dollar, or am I just being to cheap. I plan on putting them on my 2003 SANTE that has a black tower. So I would like them to look good also. Any input or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

the fusions in the gear for sale section of this site are a good value. if you take them apart and dynamat the inside of the cans you will greatly improve the sound quality. if i were shopping on a budget i would go for these and they would also leave you some money for an amp that you will need to power them.

For a really budget conscious setup, and assuming your tower speakers' purpose in life is for the rider to hear the music, then consider the very inexpensive Kicker KMT6, which can be had on ebay and elsewhere for under $250 for a pair. Sound quality is good enough for most and most importantly, the rider can hear them (when powered by an amp with 150 wpc or more). Not the best looking speakers in the world IMHO, but good enough for me.

        Save your money

Tower speakers for what?? The obvious answer is to hear/listen to while riding - correct?
If so - either get some form of HLCD speakers - or just save some more - anything else will
be a waste for the listening aspect.

If you just want show speakers - buy the brightest/shiny cans you can get for 5 hundo. Dont
        expect anything great.

Talk to earmark as they have/had some deals on some HLCD's

See What Earmark can set you up with. They may even have some takeoffs from somebody's upgrade

I have a brand new in box pair of 8" black bazooka tubbies for sale. You can take the same route I am going to take and use these for a year, and then upgrade them to either a drop in (Bullet) or a DIY HLCD speaker later. I was in the same situation with not wanting to spend a small fortune on tower speakers. These are a true 8" enclosure, and are ported. They make the perfect can for an 8" DIY using Beta components from a supplier like partsexpress.com. I will take some pictures and have in the for sale thread.

Here was a build a guy did with white cans.

I have a two pair of Titan tower speakers for sale right now. I just pulled them off the tower today and disassembled them to send out and have the cans powdercoated black. If you want them I will let both sets go for $400.00 powdercoated black. Here is a link to them.
