I would like to replace the head unit and remote (both stock) on my '03 196 LTD. However, after some quick web browsing it doesn't seem like there are many remotes that fit into a 2" round cutout.
The CMRC2-SB and WM2 appear to be my only options for remotes, but they don't seem to control any of the newer head units.
Is it possible to take the insert that my remote is mounted into off the dash, and drill a bigger hole through it and the area of the dash behind it to accommodate a bigger remote? I know that the insert comes off with a wing nut, but has anybody actually done this? If so, can you post pictures please?
Any other options?
