Almost finished with my tower enclosure...my tower is not drilled for any speaker wires. Can someone post pics of how the wires are run in and out of the tower at the breakover point? I have a plan, just want to make sure it is right =)

Well wiring a tower is not as hard as you think. First thing you need to do is figure out where the speaker wire is going to originate from. I am assuming like most you’re under the observer’s seat with you amps. So what you need to do is find the front foot mount of your tower and look for the knock out panel in the middle out it. If you don’t have a knock out then you need to drill a hole yourself. Be careful and go slow. It is very easy to get into the tower tubing and go right through it. I suggest using a partner for this. Once you are in figure out where you want to jump from one piece of the tower to the other. I did mine about three or four inches from the hinge on the inside. Drill a hole (always peen the point where you want the hole on round tubing or the drill will wander and scratch up you tower) there and a matching hole on the top half of the tower. Then you need to make holes on top where the wire will finally come out of the tower. Many people run the wire all the way to the front tube of the tower, I did not do that because I always have my bimini up and it still looks good. But if you want to spend the extra time, what you need to do is drill into the bottom of the cross members diagonally so you can get into the vertical tubes. Then you need to fish in some pull strings because string is much easier to run than wire for the initial run. And once you have everything where you want it slowly pull your wire into position. I suggest using some type of lubricant (dish soap) and a partner so the wire chafes as little as possible during the pulling. Don’t forget to use grommets and some kind of wire covering for the exposed wire (not inside the tubes) to prevent ware and shorting out. Good luck and this will take a few hours so don’t rush it.

that is basically what I had planned...did you do this with the tower on or off the boat? and where did you get the loom sleeve that is covering the wire where it is exposed? I haev regular loom but that looks sooooo much better.

the company i work for uses this loom for pulling in larger cablle, so i got it for free. sorry. try local stereo shops they will have some. and i did my boat with the tower on. i also believe www.partsexpress.com has it.
