I have a 2004 196 with no stereo. Do CC do a kit to add a stereo/CD ? Is all the wiring in already & if so should I go for any particular aftermarket system to suit connectors etc ? Any advice gratefully received.

Look in your glove box, you will see a black cover on the port side. This is where the stereo should be mounted. If you plan on adding a stereo and don't want to make a lot of changes or add a different cover (smaller than the existing one), purchase the Clarion unit that comes with these boats. You can also install other units but be careful with the size or you may have to make a new cover. The end result should look just as good though.
Your boat should already be wired for the installation of the Clarion system. Look behind the observers seat back support and towards the port side of the glove box. You should find a bunch of cables that are not connected. If you purchase a Clarion unit, it should be a plug and play type of install. If you purchase a different radio you may have to cut the existing wires to go into the new system. I don't know if they make aftermarket adapters that would allow you to just tie the Clarion connector to other type of radios.
How about speakers and remote? Are you planning on installing 2 or 4 speakers? If you don't mind spending the $$$, you could purchase the CC speaker modules from your dealer. I personally like them and you also add cup holders on the ones in the back.
If you install the radio and don't mind taking a couple of pictures, document your installation and update this post.
