    Samsonsports S7HD

Has anyone heard these. I am currently running Kicker KMT6 and not liking the sound in the boat, although I can hear them when riding. I run with 2 250 2 channel bridged JL amps. Dealer recommends these over Wet Sounds Pro 80s:

S7HD brings ultra high-definition sound to your boat! The sound quality, form factor, power handling, and fit and finish are un-matched by anything available on the market today. The patented "quick-release" clamping system allows a full 360-degrees of rotation and fits virtually any boat.
S7HD speakers include: 2 speakers, 2 clamps, 2 neoprene speaker socks, and carrying case.
    Speaker specs:
    • • 250W rms / 500W peak power handling
    • • 34mm titanium diaphragm compression driver
    • • injection molded polypropylene cone
    • • weather proof rubber surround
    • • composite hybrid grill/horn throat
    • • speaker dimensions: 175mm
    • • clamp to tower fit: 1 7/8" to 2 1/2"
    • • direct cast tower mount approved boats (low profile mount): Malibu, Illusion X, XS, Tigι Alpha Tower, and Centurion
    • • US Patent #6,798,892 B2

There is a comparison in the bottom of this pdf comparing them to Pro 80s:

    Jonfo,

You're in the home court of Exile and Samson who have a cooperative venture on those speakers. From the net I'm seeing alot of Samson/Exile penetration in your geo area.

We carry both the Exiles (Samson) and the WetSounds.

BTW, the latest version of the Exile XM-7 has a dual mode passive crossover that can be set during installation depending on your preference for sound quality or unbridled output.

The Exile deserves all the great press they're getting over their quick-disconnect (no tools required) and rotating pod (no external wires). I believe the build quality is on par with anything. And of course its an HLCD with all the amplitude and projection that implies.

The Exile XM-7 (Samson S7HD) is a valid comparison with the WetSounds Pro60 because they're both 6 1/2-inch midbass drivers in equivalent pod displacements.

However, the WetSounds Pro80 is an 8-inch with a much larger pod. The larger speaker is louder which should come as no surprise. From a neutral corner I'm just stating the obvious.

Are four Exile XM-7s loud enough at wakeboarding distance? Easily! How do the WetSounds and Exiles compare in sound quality? At 80 feet they both sound exactly like HLCDs and all that implies. There's a bit of difference in the two companies' sound shaping but since that's more of a subjective preference I'll leave that to the personal audition.
