    Nautique tower wire options...

I have a 2007 Nautique 236 and have run into a road block for rewireing the tower. The tower speaker wires go through front port leg of the tower. The enter from below the deck, through a pass through bolt. The two stock wires appear to be 16 gauge, and are just big enough to not allow the passage of a third twisted pair.

On the starboard side, the anchor light wires pass through the same type of bolt and present the same challenge.

My intention was to run 3 x twisted pairs of 12 gauge variety to the tower. Now it appears the only way to do that will be running a deck type plug unless somebody else a viable solution....thoughts?

Twisted wire only increases the bulk. Use jacketed mutli-conducter wire that has a slick
outer sleeve that makes pulling much easier. The outer sleeve and interior multiple
insulation is a more reasonable thickness to reduce bulk. You can selectively remove the
outer jacket to narrow the collective cable diameter for service loops or narrow passageways. Don't try and use Monster Cable or Pro Audio type cable in a tower. You don't need the overly thick insulation as no one is going to be contiuously walking across
it as they would behind a stage or across an auditorium floor.

Thanks for the tip...I know I said twisted pair, but in actuality, it is not twisted...just force of habit, hahaha. At any rate, from a gauge standpoint it appears that will still be an issue unless the insulation is next to zero... I have two Prodigies and a Pair of Modus hanging from the tower, so I will need three pair going to the tower: 1 for each Prodigy and run the Modus in parallel at 4 ohms (can parallel it after I get it through the pass through bolt). The current wiring appears to be 16 gauge (non twisted). Any guess on the max sheathed wire gauge I can pass through? I would like buy it before I go home today....

We've run a pair of Pro80s plus a pair of Pro485s on that tower with each speaker having its own 12-ga 2-conductor harness... So eight total conductors plus LED and pylon light wiring without issue. We've often drilled out the interior of the tower foot/flange and run dual external sevice loops at the hinge point. Take a look at the tower harnesses on our store. They're designed specifically with no extra bulk and for ease of pulling. Use the old harness to pull through the new.
