    Amp mounting

    one more question.

    in the 04' ski 206:

I have my 6ch infinity 5760 mounted in the location of the stock 2ch 'marine audio' amplifier by mounting a poly cutting board to the reinforced areas of fiberglass (where the factory installed their sweet amp) and then mounting the amp onto the board. But I still need to find a spot for the sub amp, its on a board about 13"x13" is it possible to screw this board into the right side (inner wall) on the ski locker? I can feel what seems to be another area where there is a raised square of fiberglass - so this would be a possible spot where the factory installs an amp (maybe the kicker upgrade?) is this safe?

    Atrain,
I have a similar concern. I have 04 Air 210 and am trying to mount 5 channel MTX amp where the original 40w factory amp is. Stretching across two distinct raises in the hull where I believe they mount the upgrade as you mentioned. What I don't know?

    1) How long can the screws be? The amp is quite heavy so I am not sure the fiberglass will be strong enough without larger, longer screws.

    2) Can you send pics of this plastic board install to jwhorders@hotmail.com??

Yes, I would agree he does it right. But what about the guys that only want to spend a weekend and as little money as possible. :0, I am amazed at this install, the time, energy, and perfection that went into that system deserves more than a trophy. WOW, I don't know what to say other than its an install I will be sharing with all my boating friends after they look at my rookie installation. If I can figure out the pinouts on the XMD1. I am confused of the RCA jacks coming out. One pair (grey) went to the nice 40w amp, but there is a pair of red RCA's that goto nothing. I have an MTX 5 channel amp and don't understand how all six speakers (stock) are being powered. I have downloaded the manual but it doesn't go into the pinouts on the back. I could kick the salesperson for removing those nice little tags that say what the wires are

For thoes of you that dont want to cut and glue boards , This might be your ticket. I like it because there is no dry time for the glue and when you change your amp the carpet in you boat is un-effected

Here is how I mounted my amps to the area your are talking about. I bought a piece of MFD 3/4" and used either 1" 1/4 or 1" 1/2 stainless steel screws to fasten it to where to stock amp came in my 04 LE. I have 2 phoenix gold amps attached to the board cut to the exact size of each amp. Hope this helps.
