Wetsounds Discoloring to Cream from White

    Hey Guys,

My buddy has a pair of White Pro 80's on his boat, he has only had them since February and they have already discolored to more of a Cream color. I understand that when you have plastic and keep it outside for the most part some things are going to discolor a bit. What is strange and makes it very noticeable is the front ring where the grill attaches is still bright white, just the cans have yellowed to a cream color.

Is this common (happen to anyone else)?

    Does black hold up better?

What sort of warranty do they offer?

I'm asking to help my buddy and because he had me sold on wetsounds until this, I now question if they are as supreme as we all think.

The white can's will eventually "yellow" as time goes on. Mine do the same thing. Black will not fade and quick as white. It goes to show how strong the sun is and the damaging effects it has on marine environments as well as your skin

I would contact Wetsounds to answer your other questions. You can also die the can's back to white is a spray vinyl dye. If you are interested in that, contact David at Earmark Car Audio for some quick advice.

All things fade over time. Get used to it!!!

Hey Kevin, Have your friend contact Wet Sounds technical/customer service department directly 1-877-938-7757. We would be happy to help him out. The product comes with a 1 year warranty so if they were purchased just this past Feb. then they will be covered under warranty.

The white cans are painted with a extremely top quality paint with UV protection.. By chance so you know if the owner ever waxed them or polished them to help protect them from the UV rays? The black painted cans however last longer as there's more UV resistance in Black vs. White. Possibly the pair in question may have not received enough clear coat to help protect them? Either way have him contact us and we will work something out.

        Thanks Guys,

Shawn, my buddy called them and Wetsounds couldn't have been better to him. They were very accommodating and are even letting him wait till the end of the season to send them back. Goes to show that you can have a great product but people keep coming back when you give them great service.
